Phosphorus and potassium fertilization increases yields and maintains soil fertility.

It is important to replace phosphorus and potassium removed by the harvests.

Year: 2020

Crop: Maize

Location: Fohrafeld, Austria

Research objective

Scientific long-term trial with 4 replicates. Phosphorus and potassium fertilization is based on the offtake by the harvests. The study assesses the long-term influence on soil fertility and short-term influence on yields.

Fertilization

K0, P0 = plots without P and K fertilization

K1, K1 =         ½ of the offtake of P and K is replaced by fertilization.

K2, P2 =         The offtake of P and K is replaced by fertilization.

Results

Phosphorus and potassium fertilization increases yields of maize.
