NITRIC NITROGEN FOR EFFECTIVENESS
Not all nitrogen forms are the same, or equally effective. Out of the three possible forms (urea, ammoniacal and nitric), nitric nitrogen achieves the best results in crops.
NITRATE IS THE PLANTS’ PREFERRED CHEMICAL FORM FOR THEIR NUTRITION
Unlike urea, the nitric form is directly available to plants. Urea needs to be converted into ammonia and nitrate before it can be used by crops. These transformations depend on the temperature of the soil and take time, increasing the risk of deficiency for the plants especially under cold weather conditions. In addition, nitrogen can be lost during the transformations, producing an adverse effect on plant growth and harming the environment.

N+S: COMPLEMENTARITY BETWEEN NITROGEN AND SULPHUR

Nitrogen and sulphur are essential for protein synthesis. Both of them are required to build up several essential amino acids, and they play a part in activating enzymes and co-enzymes. As components of chlorophyll, their role in growth and yield is crucial. 

Nitrogen use is dependent on sulphur. Sulphur absorption improves the exploitation of nitrogen.

The dynamics of sulphur absorption by cereals are close to those of nitrogen absorption. That means that sulphur needs to be applied at the same time as nitrogen. Applying both together significantly increases grain protein content.
