Urea usage ban

Urea usage ban – 1st April 2024

As heavily publicised in the UK agricultural media, the 31st March indicated the start of the ban of straight Urea being utilised. Original tabled to begin in 2023, this regulation was push back in order to create some stability on supply chain due to the geopolitical landscape.

Growers have the ability to continue to use Urea based fertiliser up until 31st March, post this date any products that include 1% of urea will not be allowed to used. Whilst this opens the door for Inhibited products, these do come at an additional premium and may not be suitable for many growers demands.

The other, and most reliable choice, would be to continue to utilise Nitrate based products, which have reduced risk of volatilisation and provides tangible results upon application. LAT Nitrogen continue to strengthen their links with their UK partners in order improve product availability of their Granular AN 33.5% and NS grades, trading as MYPREMIAN® and MYNITRAS®, throughout the application period allowing growers access to premium products which meet and exceed current legislations.
